Chief of Bibiani within the Western North Region, Nana Ngoah Anyima Kodom II, is assuring government of his resolve to ensure the reclaiming of the country's water bodies in just within two weeks.

According to him, it is crucial to restore the country's water bodies for future generations and that he added, "I am committed to".

The destruction of the country's water bodies according to him dated back to the 1984 during which the late former President, Jerry John Rawlings tried everything possible to stop but that did not see the light of day.

But, the Bibiani chief thinks he has what it takes to get the job done and that will be hinched on an appointed.

He added that the narratives have remain the same with successive governments but would be changed with the involvement of Traditional leaders.

Nana Ngoah Anyima Kodom II however, is confident if given the chance to traditional rulers, water bodies would be reclaimed.

He added that with just four helicopters flying over galamsey-prone areas coupled with military acrutiments the work would be done.

He said the operation will preceed military alerting everyone to withdraw their machines from the forest, the water bodies and failure within a stipulated time to comply, will see the destruction of all machines.

Without that arrangement in place,he said the government should forget about fighting the galamsey menace. "If they can not make arrangements as I have requested, then they should forget the galamsey fight", he noted.
