Residents of Asunafo North of the Ahafo Region have lauded the appointment of Mr Evans Opoku Bobbie as Deputy Sports Minister.

Speaking to the Soireenews Sulley Dramani, after President Nana Akufo- Addo named him among other persons as Deputy Ministers, residents described him as a grassroots person and the right man for the job. He revealed optimism that he would deliver to the expectation of the entire Nation.

Some traders at Goaso weekly market however entreated him to continue all the abandoned projects in the Region and ensure the construction of roads which is a major challenge in the Ahafo Region.

Mr Opoku Bobie served in Nana Addo’s first administration as Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister and subsequently became the substantive Brong Ahafo Minister.

With the substantial demand for the creation of new Regions through a referendum in the year 2018, President Akufo-Addo appointed him again to take care of the three Regions, namely, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions.

After exhibiting competence and commitment towards the earlier mandates, the president appointed him again as the first-ever Ahafo Regional Minister.

Mr Opoku Bobie has been promoted by Nana Akufo- Addo from Regional to the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports if approved by the vetting committee of Parliament.
