Residents at Aboabo No.2 in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region are crying over the bad nature of their roads.

Speaking to Soiree News, the Assembly Member for the area Madam Mercy Yeboaa said, prior to the 2020 election, a contractor was on the road but left right after the election and has since not returned.

The poor roads according to her have affected the social and economic livelihoods of her electorates hence the call to fix the bad roads.

The Aboabo No.2 road project was awarded on contract during former President John Dramani Mahama's administration in 2012 but has since been abandoned.

The Dormaa-Aboabo Youth Association (AYA) prior to the 2020 general election said it was going to ensure residents in the area boycotted voting if the road was not fixed.

But Kuasehene of Aboabo Number.2,  Nana Kwaku Yeboah Ababio stopped the youth from the action.

He assured them that the delay in the project according to government officials was a result of a lack of funding but they were working tirelessly to resolve it but till now the road is yet to be fixed.

The residents are however calling on the government as a matter of urgency to release funds for the contractor to return on-site to save the situation.
