The Bono Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asare Bediako Seth has described the decision by the governing Board of Achimota to appeal the case regarding the Rastafarians as needless.

Speaking to Soiree News, the NPP Communicator said there are lots of issues that need attention in the country hence urging for a ceased fire on the Rastafarian saga as the court has settled the matter.

He is of the view that the ruling by the Human Rights Division of Accra High Court was the best since the student has the right to study. The court on Monday, May 31, 2021, directed the school to admit the two students.

The Board of Governors for the Achimota Senior High School has announced its decision to appeal the ruling by the Human Rights Division of Accra High Court directing the school to admit the two Rastafarian boys.

A press release issued by the Board of Governors for Achimota School indicated that the school disagrees with the ruling and has directed its lawyers to appeal the ruling.

Several controversies have been surrounding the ruling as a section of the Ghanaian public believes it will breed indiscipline among students in Ghanaian schools.

But reacting to this, Mr Asare Bediako debunked the assertion the ruling cannot affect the educational structure in Ghana as far as indiscipline is concerned.
