A Mother of Hostage Storms QNET Office, Threatens to Invoke Antoa Nyama!
Investigations initiated into the operations of Qnet agents in Koforidua- and parts of the Eastern region by the A-G since January following complaints of alleged Ponzi scheme and fraud has revealed chilling accounts of how over a thousand youth risked being scammed.

A woman from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region stormed one of the offices of the controversial Ponzi scheme Q net at Two Streams a suburb of Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital to threaten them with Antoa deity for holding her daughter hostage under the guise of network marketing.
The angry woman said, her daughter was lured into the fraudulent scheme under the guise of being a well-paid job.
She said after her daughter was supported to pay GHC 4,500 to the Qnet agent, the assurance of being paid commission weekly in dollars has not been fulfilled as a result, her daughter had become stranded in the office of the company but not being allowed to leave.
She kept begging family members to send her monies to buy food.
After resistance by the Qnet agents, the woman went to the Police station to officially lodge a complaint, upon which police intervened before the daughter was allowed to leave.
The two Streams office of Qnet was opened a year ago by some alleged Togolese.
Hundreds of youth mostly from Kumasi, Volta, and the Western Region have been lured by the agent and his accomplices.
The victims have been camped in houses and are seen loitering aimlessly in the community.

There are close to 10 Qnet agents operating in various parts of Koforidua with many of their victims camped in houses having paid at least GHc4,200 each.
Meanwhile, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, has filed a petition at the Accra High Court seeking an order to wind up (dissolve) a network marketing company known as Quest Net Limited (QNET).
In the petition filed at the Commercial Division of the Accra High Court, the A-G accused the company of engaging in dishonest, illegal, and fraudulent business activities
“Investigations by the National Security Council Secretariat disclosed that the respondent (QNET) operates in a manner akin to a Ponzi scheme by luring clients to make deposits and investments with them which they eventually lose,” it added.
