Senior Communications Specialist of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr Mohammed Mahama Adams made this known at the Zoomlion and Graphic Communications Group's sanitation awareness campaign dialogue series in Damongo in the Savannah Region.

Mr. Mahama says this is a long term project with the mandate of attaching liquid waste treatment plants, to the sixteen IRECOP plants at various phases of construction across the country.  According to him, this project is implemented by Sewage Systems Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Zoomlion, with support from foreign partners and the Ghana government to promote the proper management of solid and liquid waste.

Graphic Communications Group and Zoomlion have come together to create awareness on environmental sanitation to support the clean Ghana Campaign.

Mr Mahama added that Zoomlion is currently distributing free one million waste bins to customers and asked Ghanaians to subscribe and receive their dustbins.

At the event, regional director of the Environmental Health Department Mr. Wahab appealed to residents of the region to always consider places of convenience first , when building houses to help put an end to open defecation. He also said that the Regional Coordinating Council was preparing to host big sanitation and waste management forum in Damongo to find solutions to the Damongo waste management and sanitation problems. He called for the support of all and sundry including the chiefs and security services.
