Reports claim that Arsenal star Granit Xhaka will be out of action in the field of play for three months following a horror knee ligament injury.

Granit will now have to be a spectator for three months due to his knee injury.

The 29-year-old Gunners midfielder limped off in Sunday's 3-1 North London Derby win at the Emirates.

He was pictured at home with his daughter wearing a brace on Monday.

But Arsenal have now confirmed he is set to be sidelined until the New Year.

"Further to injuring his right knee during Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, assessments and scans have confirmed that Granit Xhaka suffered a significant injury to his medial knee ligament.

"A specialist consultation took place in London on Tuesday evening which has determined that Granit does not require surgery.

"Granit’s recovery and rehabilitation programme will start immediately and we are aiming for him to be back in action in approximately three months.

"Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Granit to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible." Arsenal FC wrote.

Xhaka went down after accidentally being clattered by Spurs star Lucas Moura at the weekend.
