Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp says team will not be complacent over Manchester United’s injury situations in Sunday’s encounter at Old Trafford.
According to the manager, he is ‘old enough’ to judge all things in the right way. Liverpool will lock horns with ‘stressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looking to extend their winning spree and equalize Manchester City’s 17 consecutive win record.
United have been confronted with injuries on Paul Pogba and David De Gea whiles Martial and Aaron Wa Bissaka are likely to feature for the Red Devils on Sunday.
“I’m 100 per cent aware of the strength of Manchester United, I expect their best possible line-up. Four days ago, I think Ole said ‘no chance’ for De Gea or Pogba, today it’s a ‘maybe’, tomorrow it’s ‘100 per cent’. Martial will be back, all that stuff.
“That’s how these games are played, no problem with that. But I’m old enough and we are experienced enough to judge all the things in the right way.
“We have to be very, very lively, we have to be emotional as much as allowed, we have to be fluent, we have to be very clear in a lot of moments, and we have to respect their strength – and that’s what we do.
United have won two games from a possible eight and are 12 th on the Premier League table, their worst start in 30 years. A win for them against Klopp’s boys is a booster ahead of their season yet Jurgen has spoken that United’s recovery cannot kick off on Sunday against the Reds.
“This is a really good football team in a situation they don’t like, so they want to change it. We have to make sure if they want to change it, they have to start that a week later.”
On his analysis of United, the manager continued: “I expect all the speed they have, I expect Martial back – and Rashford and James on the pitch. They all have real speed and they all have real quality.
“If Martial can’t play, you know exactly the same about Rashford and James, for example, and they will build around.
“It’s not my job to talk about it but it’s not easy for Ole to talk about it: they had a lot of injuries. They had these injuries coincidentally, the number of them and really decisive players for them.
“Nobody can play the same kind of football when five or six of your first line-up players are out, that’s just not [possible]. You cannot play the same football; you can maybe get the same results if the mood is different but you cannot play the same football. That’s what was difficult for them. That will change. Then, unfortunately, other teams will probably have injuries and they have to deal with that, that’s how a season is.

“They had good signs, good moments, all that stuff; they lost in the last minute or something like that, missed a penalty, that’s unlucky, nothing else.
“You need momentum in a game and in a season as well; so far they probably didn’t have it but that doesn’t mean they will never get it back. We respect them as the best United we could face, and not the Man United you [the media] all speak about during the week.”
