Principal kingmaker of Asabaham, a fast-growing community in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Amafio l has called on the management of Roads and Highways Authority and Ga South Municipal Assembly headed by Mr Stephen Nyaini to immediately construct the speed ramps on the Obom to Amasaman stretch of the road.

According to him, there has been an increased rate of killing of innocent people by cars, saying that the loss of single life on the Obom to Amasaman stretch of the road was a great worry to the stakeholders in these Ga communities.

"We want to state with worry that the rate at which vehicles are crushing pedestrians on the road is very alarming due to the absence of speed ramps on the Obom to Amasaman stretch of the road," Region, Nii Amafio l noted.

On Monday, June 21, 2021, three pedestrians who are vulcanizers along the road were crushed down to death by a private car vehicle.

He threatened to take the law into his own hands and construct speed ramps on the road if by the end of this month the Assembly has not done anything about it.

Some aggrieved youth of the area expressed deep concerns and worry on how the absence of speed ramps is killing residents of the area.

The Committee member responding to the issue on measures taken to curb the menace stated that even though the assembly is quite slow on constructing the speed ramps, the youth should calm down and be patient.
