Three African presidents to mediate Sudan

The leaders of Kenya, South Sudan, and Djibouti will go to the capital Khartoum, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (Igad) decided on Sunday.

Three African presidents to mediate Sudan

A regional organization in east Africa intends to dispatch three presidents to Sudan as soon as possible to mediate between the warring opposing military forces.

Additionally, it demanded that the warring parties in Sudan immediately halt hostilities.

But it's questionable when any peace initiative can get going because the international airport is closed.

As we've been reporting, despite appeals from the international community for the warring sides to cease firing, fighting between government forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is still going on today.

William Ruto, the president of Kenya, urged the Igad to adopt a tough stance to bring about peace in Khartoum.
