The scheduled surgeries at Bimbilla Hospital have been canceled.

According to the facility's management, the disconnection of water to the Bimbilla Hospital due to a GH220,000 debt has resulted in the cancellation of elective surgeries.

"We had to cancel seven elective procedures yesterday due to a lack of water," said Dr. Barihama Adam, the hospital's medical superintendent.

He believed there should have been more communication about the situation.

"On Tuesday, this disconnect was brought to our attention. I had to travel to the Municipal Assembly yesterday to speak with the Regional Coordinating Director."

"I also had a conversation with the District Chief Executive." This isn't the best method to handle the situation. He stated, "We need to step up our partnership."

Issah Sugar, the Manager of the Bimbilla Water System, claimed the water distribution business had little choice but to disconnect the hospital in response to the hospital's concerns.

"Will the system be able to run sustainably if they consume but refuse to pay?" "No," he stated emphatically.

"There will come a time when it isn't only the hospital." The community will be cut off from the rest of the world. We're currently dealing with a stack of warning letters from NEDCo."
