The Bono East Regional Minister, Honourable Kwasi Adu-Gyan, is appealing to the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to assist in growing and protecting local industries that fall under their regulations.

He made the call when the acting Head of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Techiman on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

The Minister observed that many times, the news about FDA activities closing down businesses and destroying products they feel as unwholesome.

He disclosed that he is not against the regulations and compliance regime but of the view that the FDA can help by intensifying their education on the regulations so that, people do not lose their jobs BUT contribute meaningfully to the building of the nation.

The acting head of the FDA for the three regions,  Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo, Akua Owusu, explained to the Minister some measures her outfit puts in place before closing shops.

She, however, feels the Minister's call is in the right direction and therefore would be integrated into their activities.
