Tension Brews  In Kuntanase -Over Lock Of Toilet Facility
Breman Kuntanase Community in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region is under serious health threat following a locked up of the only toilet facility serving about 5,000 residents was locked up and left to deteriorate without use for the past two years.
The situation is said to have forced the residents to openly defecate indiscriminately in places such as river sides, and bushes, while others also use polythene bags, and chamber pots which they later dump in streams since they were left with no alternative.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, the community members explained the locked up was caused by the breakdown of the engine of the mechanised borehole which helps to pump the water to the poly tank.
The situation forced the authorities of the area to close down the facility due to their inability to repair the machine.
The residents, therefore, expressed fear of an outbreak of diseases and also said they are fed up with chancing at the nakedness of elderly women. They however called on the government and other benevolent organizations to come to their aid.
