Lawyer James Enu calls for unity among Tema West NDC as he is poised to take over Tema West seat

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2016 Parliamentary candidate for Tema West, Lawyer James Enu is calling on the executives and members of the party to eschew divisive and labeling tendencies as they head for the Constituency elections.

His call follows experiences from previous elections hence the admonition to everyone contesting in the upcoming constituency elections of the party within Tema West Constituency.

According to him, the reason that accounted for the NDC's inability to annex the Tema West constituency seat is mainly disunity hence the need for the call. "If not for a few internal hitches the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would have won the Tema West seat for the first time since the inception of multi-party democracy and those challenges are going to be worked on to claim the seat from the NPP", he noted.

In the party's quest to clinch the Tema West seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer James Enu who contested in 2012 and 2016 in both Tema West and Tema Central respectively is upbeat that the prevailing hiccups that hinder victory will be a thing of the past but called for peace to forge ahead. This, according to him who is working assiduously to annex the seat for the NDC, noted that much experience is needed by the candidate and he stands tall in that regard. "Haven contested twice, I have much under my sleeves to bring on board for victory 2024, Lawyer Enu assured.

Lawyer Enu further noted that hard lessons had been learned from what appears to be a near victory in the December 2020 elections and are hopeful those lapses will be a thing of the past. To win the seat in the coming election, Lawyer Enu observed that the party needed a marketable candidate who is much abreast with the dynamics of the constituency and he is fit for that purpose. "With my two times contest, I have gathered much experience which the NPPs have been holding on to outwit them but I can say on authority that we have acknowledged that those challenges will soon be resolved", he assured.

Lawyer Enu conceded that the Tema West seat has over the years been difficult for the party to clinch but he said being a markable candidate, he is more grounded with the matters that have caused the party's downfall. "I must reiterate that those challenges are going to be a walkover as we prepare for our activities towards that", he further observed.

Lawyer Enu is hopeful this time round the party will win the seat in the 2024 elections as the party is set to train polling executives who will be committed to checking collation results with those that will be computed into the Electoral Commission's system with that of theirs and that may require an experienced professional.

Deployment of polling agents who were believed to be members of the party but are not, deployment of polling agents who could not write and could not monitor the computing, and collation of figures amongst others were some of the challenges that militated against the party's victory. Lawyer Enu further entreated the party faithful to remain committed to the cause of the party, particularly during the time of electing constituency executives.

The 2016 parliamentary aspirant urged individuals contesting in the upcoming coming Constituency election not to slander anyone since after winning their elections, all may be needed to prosecute the 2024 contest.
