Tain DCE Set Up Strategic Development Committee

The District Chief Executive for Tain District Assembly in the Bono Region, Dr. Lucy Acheampong has set up a committee to spearhead activities that would accelerate growth and development in the district

The committee known as Strategic Development Committee will assist in the development of activities, programs, projects, and policies related to economic development in the district.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent Nana Anfreh Damanata Dr. Lucy Acheampong said the committee is expected to identify the critical needs of communities in the district and solicit external financial assistance to address the identified needs.

According to her, the move is to help reduce the pressure on the assembly and the government to undertake various developmental projects in the district.

Furthermore, she said the Tain District Assembly had a lot of needs in the area of education, health, water and sanitation, roads among others which needed urgent support.

Dr. Lucy Acheampong explained that the central government and the assembly can not tackle the critical needs alone.

Is against this background that the Tain District Assembly, under my leadership has set up this strategic development committee in the 4 zones across the district namely, Seikwa, Badu, Nsawkaw, and Debebi zones respectively fund some developmental projects in the district she noted.

The committees yet to launch had become very necessary to serve as vehicles through which people who are expressed interest in supporting the agenda can contribute to the development of the district the DCE said.

She appealed to corporate bodies and individuals' benevolence to come to the aid of the district and contribute immensely to its progress.
