FixTheCountry Demo: Youth blame Prez Akufo-Addo And Bawumia For reversing Ghana's Economy

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia have been accused of taking Ghana's economy backwards which has worsened the living condition of the billions of ordinary people in the country.

Describing President Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia as the bad managers of Ghana's economy, the visibly charged protesters of the #FixTheCountry demonstration blasted the two for worsening the economic situation of ordinary people.

According to them, they have voted for President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia into the political power to improve their economic situation but for the look of what is happening in Ghana, the two have failed their campaign promises to transform the economy of Ghana.

"We are totally disappointed in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that now promising we the teeming unemployed youth in Ghana that he is now coming to create one billion jobs but the question is that we are paying your electricity bill for the house you are staying, our monies we have been using to do everything for you.

"We are paying allowances to your wife and that of the wife of Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia but it seems that the President and his Vice are doing nothing to fix the current problem that we are facing.

"Our living conditions under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) have rather worsened than what we had experienced from the former President John Dramani Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

"The prospect of our economy is going backwards. Our economy is so bad. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia have no vision for ordinary Ghanaians. President Akufo-Addo is the bad manager of the economy," some of the Ghanaians youth who joined the protesters for #FixTheCountry demo stated.

Thousands of Ghanaians have joined the protesters to tell the leaders of the country their worries and problems.

Videos and photos see them wearing a red and black dress with placards in their hands.

They called on President Akufo-Addo to fight corruption and save Ghana from the economic crisis and civil war.

The #FixTheCountry Demo witnessed hundreds of individuals who trooped to the Obra Spot to partake in the much-anticipated street protest which begun on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Protesters clad in black and red register turned up early at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to join “disappointed Ghanaians” who are calling for better management of the country.

According to Sources news’s senior reporter, Freeman Koryekpor Awlesu all COVID-19 safety protocols were observed by persons who joined in the demonstration.

Although there was little or no regard for social distancing, a majority of them have been seen wearing a nose mask which is mandatory at all public gatherings.

Some of the placards displayed had “Stop making foreigners look down on Ghana”, "Wake up sleepy old president", "Stop the corruption in the judiciary", "Fix our Education system now" boldly written on them.

The protest which is taking place on Founders' Day is expected to end at the Black Stars Square in Accra.
