Staff Nurse Bemoaned over deplorable state of Agyata CHPS Zone

Amos Acheampong, Staff Nurse at Agyata CHPS  Zone in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region is appealing to the Government and NGOs to come to their aid over the deplorable state of their CHPS Zone.

According to him, the bad nature of the roofing has led to leakages in the ceilings which have been dominated by bats destroying the ceiling.

Again, the facility which is serving 8 communities with a population of 4900 with two hard to reach areas can bost of only one faulty motorbike which usually breaks down on the way to render services to these surrounding villages, washrooms are not available for staffs and patients who want to attend nature's call and the most intimidating aspect is access to potable drinking water, he said.

Moreover, the facility lacks an autoclave machine that can help us to sterilize our instruments after use, also there's only one bed which makes it difficult to detain and or admit patients, especially for women who are in labor and are supposed to be monitored 6 hours after delivery.

Even though, the DCE has assured us that they will do their possible best to improve the state of the facility but we are still asking for support from other entities.
