SA is on the lookout for the killers of a high-ranking politician's daughter.

The killers of the 28-year-old daughter of a former secretary-general of the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters party are being sought by South African police.

After going missing on Friday, Hillary Gardee's body was discovered in a bush in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga province, with wounds to her skull.

She was with her three-year-old daughter, who was discovered uninjured.

A missing person warning had gone out to the public, and the South African police had pleaded for help in finding her.

Bheki Cele, the Police Minister, paid a visit to the murder scene where the body was discovered on Tuesday.

He said the authorities were striving to bring Ms. Gardee's killers to justice, and that the police had launched a strategy to find them within 72 hours.

Ms. Gardee is regarded as an "energetic, compassionate, and loving individual" by the EFF.

It stated that her death had left "Gardee's family bereft and the EFF's collective leadership speechless."
