Poor network service affecting our business- hospitality operators

Some hospitality operators in the Bono and Ahafo regions are complaining bitterly about the failure of the telecommunication companies to provide them with city services.

According to them, the world is migrating from the traditional way of doing business to the digital way hence it has become necessary for them to adapt to new systems but with the poor internet connectivity they cannot get a comparative advantage and it is affecting their work.

Citing digital marketing as an example, they explained they need to digitally sell their facilities on the internet to boost their business but they have been experiencing constraints due to the poor network services from the various service providers in their area.

They stressed that the internet service of telecom companies had recently lost their quality. They said the internet is not working properly and sometimes the signals are lost and it is hurting their work when it comes to the digital way of doing things.

They are therefore calling on telecommunication providers to deliver quality services to enhance their work.

They also called on the government to ensure that the telecommunication network companies provide quality services to them since the world is now a global village.

They made this known at a training organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority to train hospitality operators under the COVID-19 Alleviation Revitalization of Enterprise Support (Ghana Carprogramamme to improve their operations.

The GTA rendered this training to the operators for them to be advanced in using technology, having observed that they have been left behind in the present days of digital marketing.
