Peace Restored To Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba: Court Awards 6,731.39 Acres Of Land To The Royal Essel Amoquandoh Twidan Family In Landmark Judgment

The Winneba High Court has granted possession of 6,731.39 acres of land in the Central Region to the Royal Essel Amoquandoh Twidan family of Gomoah Fetteh Kakraba.

The court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Baah Forson Agyapong, secures the family's custodianship over several communities.

The court judgement affirmed that the Royal Essel Amoquandoh Twidan family holds custodianship of 6,731.39 acres encompassing Fetteh Kakraba, Mamfram, Abura, Tuansa, Nkwantanan, Abakum, Essel Kwame, Fetteh Gua, Onsewodem, and Oyo.

It was contained in Suit No. CR/WB/HC/ E1/37/25 between the plaintiffs—Omanklado of Gomoah Fetteh Kakraba, Nana Yaw Kwadromanu II, Ebusuapanyin Kweku Owuboa of the Essel Amoquandoh Royal Twidan family of Gomoah Fetteh Kakraba verses defendants—who are Simon Kpote, Daniel Kpote, and the Cape Coast Central Regional office of Lands Commission of Ghana.

The court ordered the Lands Commission to strike the defendants' names from all land title records and certificates, declaring their past allocations null and void.

The court awarded the plaintiffs GH₵40,000.00 for trespass and GH₵80,000.00 for legal costs.

Following the landslide victory, the Omanklado of Gomoah Fetteh Kakraba, Nana Yaw Kwadromanu II on behalf of traditional leadership and family issued the following advice to the public

Regularize Documents

The chief stresed that any individuals who purchased land from Simon Kpote or Daniel Kpote should immediately contact the Royal Essel Amoquandoh Twidan Family to properly regularize their land title certificates.

Beware of Unauthorized Agents

The traditional office holder further stressed that 

 potential buyers are strictly warned to cease all land transactions with the named defendants, their agents, workers, servants and assigns.

Report Landguards

The chief urged the landowners and landlords to report any unauthorized individuals or "landguards" demanding fees in the name of the chief or family, as they do not employ landguards for their transactions.

Nana Yaw Kwadromanu II commended the presiding judge for demonstrating wisdom and justice, noting that the ruling will promote peace, stability, and unity in land businesses within the Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba enclave in the Central Region.
