More than 60 Residents of Akuapem North Municipal have been rendered homeless after last night's rainstorm.

Communities such as Tutu, Obosomase, and Mampong were heavily hit by the storm damaging several properties and displacing more than 60 natives.

The rain which started around 7 pm and lasted for about 40 minutes ripped off the roofs of several households, rendering more than 60 natives of the aforementioned communities homeless.

Trees, streetlights cables, and electrical poles were uprooted by the storm plunging parts of these communities into total darkness.

In an interview with one of the victims, Madam Gladys to SN24 News, the rainstorm ripped off her entire house, rendering her family homeless with properties worth, thousands of Ghana Cedis destroyed.

According to her, the rain lasted for about 40 minutes with severe intensive and continuous windstorms.

Another victim, Madam Rose of the Obosomase community said the storm had worsened her plight as her saloon shop was pull down and electrical cables destroyed.

A half of Tutu Methodist School crèche canteen building has been pulled down by the rainstorm damaging furniture and other cooking utensils as well as electronic gadgets.

The Assemblymember for Tutu electoral area, Francis Asare is popularly known as Jalo, visited the residents expressed shock about the level of damage caused by the rainstorm in the community.

He assured his readiness to assist the victims to acquire roofing sheets to fix their buildings.
