Residents of Mankata in the Assin South District of the Central Region have invoked curses on some military personnel and Forest guards over what they described as unnecessary brutality mounted on 19 years old Forgive Alormenu and her siblings.

They have therefore called on the management of the forest reserve to investigate.

The aggrieved residents venting their spleen told Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful that forest guards numbering about 6 including one military officer with Pick Up Registration Number GS 2167-12.

They were wielding weapons and on their routine operations met 19-year old Forgive Alormenu and her siblings conveying Cassava from the farm. The guards confronted them, and after suspecting Forgive Alormenu and her siblings as an informant to the illegal Chain Saw Operators, without provocation they subjected the victim to severe beatings.

"The military officer slapped me, used a thorn stick to beat me, in an attempt to strip me naked, my other siblings intervene and saved me. As I am speaking some of the thorns are still in my flesh after my uncle used a knife to remove them." Forgive Alormenu told Central Regional Soireenews correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful Dadzie in an interview."

Moreover, the mother of the victim, Madam Faustina Visu said the officers fired about four gunshots in the process rendering them with fear and panic. She however called on Assin Fosu District Forestry Manager, Nana Kwabena Agyapong, and the Police administration to thoroughly investigate and bring the officers to book else she will summon them to the gods.
