Assembly Member,Charles Oteng Electrifies Nii Okai-man Electoral Area In Ga Central Municipality With Football Gala Competition
The much anticipated OT Chancity Championship under the Auspices of the office of Nii Okai-man East electoral Area Assemblyman, started right after the Health walk held from the Chantan Market to Happy Home School Park.

THE Nii Okai-man Electoral Area In the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region was charged on Saturday December 16, 2023 as thousands of children, youth and the aged thronged the Happy Home School park at Taborah Alhaji in Accra to support their favorite football teams.
The much anticipated OT Chancity Championship under the Auspices of the office of Nii Okai-man East electoral Area Assemblyman, started right after the Health walk held from the Chantan Market to Happy Home School Park.
The football inter-soccer gala competition reignited the healthy rivalry between various communities in the Nii Okai-man Electoral Area of Ga Central municipality.
The gala offered the people another opportunity to meet their Assembly member face to face who is seeking for reelection in the upcoming District Assembly elections which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday 19, 2023.
The first ever edition of football competition organized by the Assembly member for Nii Okai-man Electoral Area, Honourable Charles Oteng was not only to unify the area but to harness great but hidden talents in his area.
The ongoing football gala which would be ended on Sunday December 17 , 2024 was also aimed at motivating, encouraging, and empowering the young people sharpen skill and knowledge in sports.
The competition saw 10 teams from all over the Nii Okai-man Electoral Area battle it out to be the ultimate winner of the event through knock outs.
The 10 teams were Happy Home FC,Young Ajax, Gab-moro Fc,Silver Dragons, Royal Citizens,Cosmos Kings,Cosmos Sharks,Abeka Motorway, Colombus FC, Gully side FC
The winners won themselves the awards from the Assemblyman of Nii Okai-man East electoral Area to motivate them to focus on their dreams which the winning team won themselves Winner - Trophy, gold medal, GH¢1500, new set of jersey.
The 2nd runner up would take home silver medals, GH¢1000, new set of jerseys, whilst 3rd winner would receive, Bronze medal, GH¢ 500, new set of jersey.
Best player- plaque- passport, Best keeper, Gloves, passport, Goal King - Golden boot, passport.
Giving the opening remarks, Honourable Charles Oteng reiterated appealed to the eligible voters in the area to come out to vote for him massively for him to retain the Assembly seat of the area to continue to lobbying for the social and infrastructure developmental projects to be brought to the area.
Articulating on how make gala competition successful in the future, the Assembly man revealed plans of going a step further to assist talented footballers to watch high rated football matches to enrich their experience about the game.
The young and energetic Assemblyman who always set the pace has indicated his vision to engage the youth in teams by motivating and encourage the youth in their skill development in sports.
''My aim as a Assembly man in this area is to ensure that I harness raw talents and develop them to become useful human beings for this community, their families and the country as a whole'', Honourable Charles Oteng stressed.
Honourable Charles Oteng popularly known as OT stressed that sports play a very important role in tackling many challenges faced by society such as; violence, tolerance, self-discipline are mostly developed in the participation of sports.
According to Honourable Charles Oteng, there are many youth sportsmen who wish to go into division one and advised them to take the advantage and showcase to the world what they are made of.
The electoral Area participants commended the honorable Assemblyman for showing clear leadership whilst lauded the initiative.
They called on the Assemblyman to continue with the good works by rallying more support and promote sports to improve talent, and challenging other colleague Assemblymen to emulate the good example of the Assemblyman.
The community members especially the youth charged to support the honorable man to win the election to continue organize more of such events.
The final game would be played on Sunday December 17, 2023 to end the gala competition.
