The District Chief Executive for Akrofuom, Honourable Maurice Jonas Wood on Thursday, September 30, 2021, met the various Assembly members in the district to say goodbye after three years of service.

The meeting which was held at the district assembly comprised 11 elected Assembly Members and six government appointees.

The aim was to discuss the three-year term in office as DCE and make known to the honourable members on projects which went on under the DCEs tenure.

Soireenews in an engagement with the outgoing District Chief Executive, Hon Maurice Jonas Wood said a lot of developmental projects was brought to the district by his efforts.

Touching on some projects the DCE stressed that, on education, the assembly managed to construct eight modern classroom blocks in the district which seven have been commissioned with 2,200 chairs supplied.

Also, massive renovation on classroom blocks could be withness in the district by his efforts.

He added that 28 boreholes were constructed as well as constructing 16 W/C toilets in the district among other developmental.

He accounted that the Akrofuom community owed the Ghana Electricity Company Limited an amount of GHC68,000, which he worked hard to pay during his tenure for the good people of Akrofuom to have access to potable water.

Adding that, through his efforts, the district has built its own assembly which would be commissioned next week.

Maurice Jonas Wood the outgoing DCE, took the opportunity to thank the President of the Republic, Nana Addo for the creation of the Akrofuom district.

"I thank the Assembly members who supported day in day out activities to make the reality of the project, and to Nananom the kind gesture showed in the last three years is on course," the DCE added.

He advised his successor to continue the good work he started to bring more developmental projects into the district to ease hardship once the district is involved with a lot of farming communities.
