The Municipal Chief Executive for the Old Tafo Municipal Assembly, Honourable Fred Obeng Owusu has called on the constituents to ensure unity within the party.

According to him, some behaviours such as disunity and internal party wrangling among members can deject most party faithful and other floating voters, hence most of them may refuse to cast their votes during the 2024 election.

He said if that happens, it's likely to send the party to opposition.

The MCE for the Old Tafo municipality, Hon Fred Obeng Owusu and the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Vincent Ekow Assafua have however pledged their commitment to making sure there's an existence of peace within the area.

The duo made the vow during the party's internal delegates' conference held at the Old Tafo municipality.

Tafo-Pankrono in recent times had been known to be boiling with factions from the MCE and the MP. Many had described the recent behaviour of the Old Tafo constituents as a typical one that was likely to send the party back into its grave due to the disunity that existed in the area from the factions created amongst the MCE and the Member of Parliament.

Speaking at the delegates' conference, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Fred Obeng Owusu indicated that it's high time the party unite to make the 'break the eight" dream of the party a reality.

According to the MCE who believes unity is the only key through which the party can win the 2024 election, any internal differences must be forgone to help build a strong team.

He reveals that the party's failure to build a united team that could lead to a firm development will lead to an apathetic vote that can easily send the party to opposition.

"Our own behaviour can lead to an apathy vote that can send us to the opposition. It's time we put all differences aside and build a united team that can help us break the eight". He urged delegates.

On his part, Member of Parliament for the Tafo - Pankrono constituency, Hon Vincent Ekow Assafua pledged to work with the MCE whenever the President mentions his again.

He however urged his supporters to put all differences aside and support every move made by the leadership of the party to help the 'break the eight' agenda.

Hon Assafuah however pleaded that any internal wrangling that had caused the party in one way or the other is deeply regretted, and should be forgiven.

"I stand here to declare that, I, Vincent Ekow Assafua will throw my hundred per cent support for the MCE, Hon Fred Obeng Owusu and will be ready to work with him should the president mention his name again. I also pledge to work with any other person whose name is mentioned, and I, therefore, urge everyone to put difference aside, for us to build a stronger team that could lead us to break the eight". The MP said.

Meanwhile, Mr Moses Donkor, constituency chairman of the party rubbished claims that the NPP is disunited, hence their failure to execute their developmental agenda.

According to him, it's high time Ghanaians rejected the NDC's baseless propaganda and have hope for the ruling NPP government which keeps on introducing many flagship programs such as the Planting for food and jobs, one district one factory, Free SHS policy, the agenda 111 etc.

He admonished that it was good the NPP stood united so that their dream of breaking the eight comes to reality.

Chairman Donkor finally commended the Member of Parliament, the MCE and the other party executives within the constituency for sustaining peace.

Lastly, some party delegates who spoke to this reporter expressed joy over the vow made by the MCE and the sitting MP.

They were however hopeful that the agenda break was going to be a done deal with the current peace vow, coupled with the unprecedented infrastructural development record within the area.
