Chiefs Of Nsuekyir Render Apology To Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey VII

THE Chiefs and people of Nsuekyir in the Effutu Traditional Area of the Central Region have rendered an unqualified apology to the Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey VII for wrongly attacking his integrity of taking decision to use certain portion of Nsuekyir Land as Effutu Cemetery.
In a crowded press conference held on Monday April 15, 2024 addressed by the Abranhen of Nsuekyir, Nana Kofi Gyan on behalf of the chiefs, they expressed their sincere apology and retraction on a press conference which was held against Neenyi Ghartey VII by a section of Nsuekyir youth and some aggrieved farmers, who were not comfortable with the decision by Omanhene to use certain portion of Nsuekyir Land as EFFUTU CEMETERY on Thursday 12th October, 2023.
They were of the view that they had not done well to attack their Paramount since same press conference was carried out as a news item, on both main stream media houses and social media respectively.
According to the spokesperson for the chiefs, on Sunday October 8, 2023, the Omanhene of EFFUTU traditional Area, instructed some Youth from Gyhadze to supervise, a grading of a portion of Nsuekyir Land which Omanhene had already discussed with Nananom of Nsuekyir and Gyhadze to use that area for EFFUTU CEMETERY, due to the choked nature of the EFFUTU CEMETERY at Sankor.
But, he noted that discussion was not fully concluded with Nananom of Nsuekyir as a result of suggestions to Omanhene to rather use a land bounded with the people of Senya due to boundary issues with them .
Nana Kofi Gyan indicated that those who farm there and a section of the youth in Nsuekyir community went to where the grading was taking place, when they heard that, someone was grading a portion of Nsuekyir Land and destroying their farm products, to stop the operator from executing his duties as being assigned by Omanhene.
According to Nana Kofi Gyan, it has emerged that Omanhene himself came to Nsuekyir to calm tempers down and explained to the aggrieved farmers and a section of the youth why he has taken that, initiative.
Unfortunately, he was of the view that all efforts did not yield any fruits.
According to Nana Kofi Gyan issue was therefore reported to Nsuekyir District police command for amicable solution but to no avail and it turned out to be verbal attacks by some youth groups from Nsuekyir
Earlier press conference
On Thursday 12th October, 2023, a press conference was held at Nsuekyir by *Kweku Prah* who is the of *OBAATAN OF ANASFUL*
In that press conference, which was aired by most Media houses, captured certain allegations purported to be the reason why Omanhene was grading the said land, which those allegations were found not to be true, baseless and has a serious indictment on the person of Omanhene.We therefore dissociate ourselves and withdraw those allegations unconditionally.
RETRACTION AND APOLOGIES.
"Friends from the media, we the Nananom and the principal elders of Nsuekyir, wish to withdraw the said press conference which was held on 12th October,2023 of which its content has affected the image of Omanhene unconditionally and apologise for our actions," he noted.
