Nana Addo pays courtesy call to Techiman and Nkoranza Traditional Councils

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his last day in the Bono East region paid a courtesy call to the Techiman and Nkoranza Traditional Councils.

The visit forms part of his two-day working tour in the region which was aimed at inspecting and Commissioning developmental projects in the region.

The first day of the tour saw the President of the Republic visiting Kintampo Municipal and Prang where he commissioned an ultra-modern court complex and an ultra-modern edifice for the Bono East Regional Department of Federal Roads respectively.

Welcoming the President at Techiman, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, the Techiman Manhene, applauded Nana Addo for adhering to the appeals of the Traditional Council by creating a new Region and honouring Techiman as the Regional Capital.

Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, on behalf of the Municipality, expressed his profound gratitude towards the New Patriotic Party led administration for the introduction of the Free S.H.S policy as well as the Planting for Food and Job initiative from which his Traditional Area, Techiman has benefited immensely.

The Techiman Manhene further assured Nana Addo that, the Techiman Traditional Council is firmly behind his government as they seek to develop the city and Bono East as a region.

He appealed to his people to exercise patience because the authorities have already put measures in place for the appointment of a Municipal Chief Executive.

Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV appealed to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to expedite all developmental projects that have already started in the region and said the Traditional Council have already allocated Lands for the construction of a regional hospital and Airport.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo thanked Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV for his reception and revealed that his visit is part of his promise to follow all developmental projects under his regime to ensure the country gets value for money.

Nana Addo assured the gathering that, his government has put a lot of measures in place to strengthen the banking system, educational sector, health sector and to ensure a study development of the country.

He promised to make good use of the lands allocated for the construction of a regional hospital and airport into good use. 

The President also disclosed that Techiman will get its share of the agenda "Year of Roads" as all major roads will be awarded to contractors.

The President's convoy went to Nkoranza where he commissioned the Nkoranza North District Assembly.

The Nkoranza Manhene, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV also applauded Nana Addo for the implementation of the Free S.H.S policy within the first year of his first tenure of office and also the creation of new regions.

Nana Kwame Baffoe IV made mention of the fact that the development of the new Bono East region hasn't been centralized in one district but has been equally distributed across all the Municipals and Districts in the region.

This according to him is a sign of a visionary leader hence the need to commend His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

"Although construction is on course for the Regional Educational Directorate in Nkoranza I appeal to the President to expedite things a little bit for us so that we can get the full benefit of the Directorate," Nana Kwame Baffoe said.

He also appealed for the furnishing of the Nkoranza Senior High School, the construction of a Teacher Training College and the campus of the University of Science and Technology at Nkoranza, according to him they have already allocated land for the project,  introduction of computer engineering at the Nkoranza Technical Institute.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his part said he will address all the appeals laid before him by the Nkoranza Manhene within the shortest possible time.

On Agenda 111, Nana Addo disclosed that the contracts have been awarded to contractors across the nation, he also said the funds for the project has also been secured.

"Within this month of August, I will Commission for the commencement of the projects including the one for Nkoranza". Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said.
