Get Registered with TUC for your own safety - CBWU Chair tells Employers in Construction

Prince Seth Okra, the first National Vice-chairman of the Construction and Building Workers Union (C.B.W.U.) under Trade Union Congress (TUC) who doubles as the Bono Regional chairman has said, most employees and employers in the construction sector do not know their right and obligations hence the need for them to get registered under the Union for their own safety and security.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews, Mr Okra caution the workers on the Sunyani Berlin road construction works under the Chinese SYNOHYDRO company to comply with the TUC to be registered, to avoid any future breach of contract challenges.

Mr Okra however said their office is there to protect both the workers and their employers since some employers are faced with unfair treatments.  

He indicated that they also have the powers to drug offenders and parties that are unable to fulfil their part of the agreement to the extreme of taking it to court should the need arises.

He was however quick to add that, the TUC will only deduct 2% of their salary.
