The Paramount Chief of Dwenemu Traditional Area in the Jaman South constituency, Okropagyan Nana BofoBeneh IV has called on chiefs in the country to be cautious to redeem the sinking image of their community.

This according to him will restore the respect and hold them in high esteem in the sight of their subjects. Nana BofoBeneh bemoaned chief who indiscriminately eat and drink in public places to desist from that to earn the respect of the citizenry.

The former Ag. President of the Bono House of Chiefs made this call in an interview during the installation of Nana Adjei Bene as the Gyasehene of Awasu traditional area.

Nana BofoBeneh IV further lamented what he says is corrupt practices engaged in by some chiefs. He said some chiefs in the country have over the years turn to be conduits of corruption.

Nana Beneh is worried some chiefs in the country are alleged to be taken bribes from interested persons when there is a vacancy of a stool. This he said is contributing to the disrespectful attitude towards them by the youth.
