My best collaboration will be a song with Sarkodie – Efya

 One of the Ghanaian musicians with the most features and collaborations, Efya, stated on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM that her songs with Sarkodie are some of her greatest.

"I've collaborated with around 120 artists. Therefore, whatever work I do with Sarkodie will be the hardest partnership," she said to Kwame Dadzie, the host.

Over the years, Efya has demonstrated exceptional artistic ability in both solo and collaborative music endeavors.

'I'm in Love with You' and 'Saara' by Sarkodie, 'Hold Me Down' by Akwaboah, and 'One of Your Own' by Efya starring Bisa K Dei are just a few of her well-regarded collaborations.

She also restated a comment she had made on Twitter (X) roughly two years prior, suggesting that musicians who hadn't released any of the music on which she had appeared in the previous three years either retake the piece or release it never.

She says that as artists are constantly honing their skill and things change with time, songs that were recorded more than three years ago need to be carefully rewritten and adjusted to fit the tastes of today's listeners.

“Nowadays it depends on the mic you are using. There is a certain way that I need things to be. The upgrade is not easy. When it’s done, it has to be maintained. 

It’s not really that bad. It’s no shade or anything. Come let’s make the song better,” she noted.

Every year, according to Efya, new kicks and loops are released, which is why every song needs to focus on the here and now rather than the past.

“So if you want to really release the song now and appeal to the ears of the people now you need to make it a something that will be a hit now, not the previous one," she noted.
