A man believed to be in his late 30s has beheaded his wife early this morning at Doboro, near Nsawam in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

The man, only identified by residents as Kofi, stabbed the wife between the hours of 2 and 4 am this morning according to the children.

The children disclosed that, around 4 pm yesterday, a routine misunderstanding broke out between the couples but the nearby residents and the children suspected their usual quarrel and believed they can resolve their differences as they usually do.

However, the residents heard a shout calling for a saviour between the hours of 2 and 4 am saying "Obi ngye me oo, Obi ngye me oo!" adding that when some men rushed to the scene, they found the lifeless body of the wife in a pool of blood and the husband also in a pool of blood, in an attempt to commit suicide after beheaded the wife.

One of the children who is eight years old said the late mother and father sometimes fight but could not tell the causes of their routine fights.

Nsawam Police personnel were called in to assist in calming down tempers and immediately rushed the murderer Kofi to Nsawam government hospital, where he is receiving treatment and in handcuffs at the emergency ward.

The police are yet to come out with a report over the cause of misunderstanding that led to the killing of the wife.
