The Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong advised the Assembly Members to adopt a maintenance culture in order to ensure the durability of the motorbikes.

The Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development has presented 1,248 motorbikes to all Assembly Members in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
 
The motorbikes are intended to facilitate the movement of Assembly members in the region and to ensure the governance at the Districts as well as the Municipality levels are accessible and effective.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong, during the presentation of the motorbikes on behalf of the Local Government Ministry, urged the Assembly members to use them judiciously for the benefit of the local governance system.

The motorbikes are supplied by JSA Logistics Ghana Limited, and it is intended to make the work of all the 33 municipal and District Assemblies in the Region effective and accessible.

Receiving the bikes on behalf of the Assembly members, the Dean of Presiding Members in the Eastern Region, Michael Ahwireng, on behalf of MDAs members, welcomed the move by the government and assured the minister that the motorbikes would be used for its intended purpose to improve the living standards of all residents in their respective electoral areas.

He called for his colleagues to adopt a maintenance culture in order to ensure the durability of the motorbikes.
