THE KWAHU Traditional Council in the Eastern Region has imposed ban on the commercial, social activities including drumming and noise making in the Kwahu Traditional Area for forty (40) days as part of preparations for the final funeral rites of the late Kwahumanhene, (Paramount Chief), Nana Akuamoah Boateng Il.

Except for pharmacy shops, fuel stations, financial institutions, and food vending shops, all noise making commercial activities within the communities in the Kwahu Traditional Area are to remain shut forty days.

The Traditional Council had already banned of all social and commercial activities such as engagements, weddings, outdoor crusades/ conventions and merry making have been suspended for a period of forty (40) days.

Residents have been advised to adhere to the directives as set out by the Kwahu Traditional Council as part of the final funeral rites for the late Kwahumanhene, (Paramount Chief), Nana Akuamoah Boateng Il.

He called on the chiefs and the people of Kwahu to abide by the measure put in place to honour the memory of the late Chief.

According to Kwahu Akyeamehene, (Chief Linguist) Nana Aseidu Kwapong lV, as per the customary traditions, commercial activities in the Kwahu Traditional Area will be suspended and all employees in the formal sector are expected to wear red or black apparel as a sign of respect.

Speaking to the Eastern Regional Chief Priestess and also the entire Kwahu Chief Priestess, Okomfour Akosua Dedaa, who led the customary traditions, said as per customs and traditions, during such time all commercial activities in the Kwahu Traditional Area will be suspended to honour the memory of the late Paramount Chief of Kwahu, Akuamoah Boateng Il.

Okomfour Akosua Dedaa, further stated that several activities lined up for the funeral would be announced for all residents, both home and abroad to join the chiefs and people of Kwahu to give the late Paramount Chief a befitting funeral.
