Actress Kafui Danku is pushing her colleagues to use their popularity to help and positively touch lives, even though many well-known people don't hesitate to flaunt their status with material goods, especially on social media.

She maintained that the hard realities that many people had to deal with were too much and emphasized the importance of those who could afford it, especially celebrities, giving back to society.

The mother of two emphasized the value of leveraging one's influence to create programs and initiatives that empower people in an interview with Graphic Showbiz on the sidelines of her recently established Dream Achievers Project in Accra, an initiative targeted at aiding aspiring entrepreneurs.

Kafui Danku reaffirmed her commitment to giving back to society and enabling young entrepreneurs to realize their dreams when she explained that the goal of her Dream Achievers Project was to give people who were looking to grow their businesses a platform by giving them the tools and support they needed.

"I think we can do more if we have the strength to do so. I see some of my colleagues doing their best to change lives. Many demands appear to be forthcoming.

"I think those of us who have the resources to lend a helping hand must do so. A lot of people are requesting assistance, many of them in the Direct Messages (DM) of your social media handles.

The actress suggested that celebrities create a shared platform to recognize and assist those who are truly in need. She voiced worries about the deluge of requests for help and the difficulty in distinguishing legitimate instances from those who are con artists or merely looking for sympathy.

"Having a platform that prioritizes empowering those who truly need assistance would be great. And even with that, we could monitor their development and be certain that we didn't assist those who were merely pretending to be in need," she said.

According to this concept, Kafui Danku chose prospective company owners through a screening process and awarded a total grant of GHc50,000 to them at the opening of her Dream Achievers Project.

The recipients received a variety of necessities, including industrial sewing machines, phones, gas ovens, overlockers, and agricultural products.

According to Kafui Danku, the endeavor was an attempt to assist more than just specific cases, particularly in trying times like the COVID-19 pandemic.
