The Northern Regional Ghana Immigration Public Affairs Officer Assistant, Inspector Christian Kobela Kekeli Zilevu has warned people who import foreigners into Ghana without authority approval.

According to him, between last year March to April 2021, the service has been able to arrest about 29,000 foreigners who have been repatriated.

He updated that Northern Region alone have repatriated almost 6,000 foreigners who entered the country through illegal means.

In an exclusive interview with Soireenews, the Public Affairs Officer of Ghana Immigration Service said, the service face a lot of challenges particularly dishonesty on the part of border residents.

He complained that residents along borders need to cooperate with the service particularly with regards to Ghana’s boundaries. 

Mr. Kekeli Zilevu disclosed that the act is an offense and if such persons are caught, they will be dealt with according to immigration law of the country. 

He urged border residents to cooperate with the service to carry out their work without any difficulties.
