 The Aflao District and Circuit Courts have separately remanded four suspects in connection with Police swoop. 

This follows thorough screening and investigation of 34 suspects arrested in Aflao following incidents of lawlessness, narcotics peddling and abuse of motorcycle.

Sape Atonu age 42, Mensah Emmanuel, age 26 and Agboson Jonas age 28 were put before the Aflao District Court and later remanded.

 The trio were arraigned for impersonating Public Officers. This was evident in a video where the suspects in security uniforms were seen searching and extorting monies from travelers at the Beats and Pillars along the Ghana-Togo frontiers at Aflao

20-year-old Bless Joseph who was in possession of narcotics substances was also put before the Aflao Circuit Court. 

All four suspects pleaded not guilty to their respective charges and have been separately remanded to reappear on 06 January, 2022.

Meanwhile, 30 others arrested in the same swoop are on Police enquiry bail and are assisting investigation.

Others were arrested at Akasti for various motorbike operation offence. 12 riders have been charged with riding without helmet, riding unregistered motorbike and riding without license and they are to appear before court on Thursday 23, 2021.
