Polluted Dam

Residents of Tatale Sanguli District in the Northern Region are appealing to government to provide them with good drinking water.

A dam sited in the Tatale Sanguli community which serves the community as a source of water has been contaminated due to the inhabitants 'ill activities.'

When Soireenews visited the community, it was observed that residents together with animals share the contaminated water following works to clear unpleasant substances from the water to make it safe for drinking.

Some disclosed that the current water situation is as a result of the increment of the population hence the need for government to improve water situation in the area yet they have no other choice but to drink from the contaminated dam water.

The community and its surrounding villages expressed that they all depend on the dam in its raw state without purification.

They are therefore, appealling to the government, Non-Governmental Organisations, philanthropist to assist Tatale Sanguli with pipe-borne water.
