Husband dies in detention after being arrested for the murder of his wife

In police detention, a man suspected of murdering his wife in Ada has died.

David Ayornu, a middle-aged man who is suspected of stabbing and killing his wife with a knife, had been ill since his detention by the Ada East District Police.

He was sent to the Ada East District Hospital and died there.

Chief Superintendent Atsu Dzineku, the Ada Divisional Police Commander, told that the body has been placed pending further investigations.

"We're examining the body to determine the cause of death." The remains will be transported to Accra for an autopsy to determine the cause of death."

He may have poisoned himself after the murder, according to the authorities.

"People believe he may have taken a concoction or something similar because of the way he was vomiting phlegm, therefore we want an examination to prove that."

Meanwhile, authorities believe David Ayornu was the culprit of the murder and the case has been closed.

"There's no way there'll be a case." "Who are you going to bring charges against?" According to Supt Dzineku.
