The forty-five year (45) old man, Bashiru Kophy after gunning down his wife consumed a poisonous chemical but further treatment at the Asuofua Health Center proved futile as he gave up his ghost.

A forty-five year (45) old man, Bashiru Kophy, the man who shot his lover, Vida to death over divorce threats at Asamang New Site in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region has passed on.

Honourable Michael Osei Kwaku, Assemblymember for the Asuofua-Asamang electoral area speaking to Soireenews said, Bashiru took a poisonous chemical after committing the atrocious act. 

According to him, he was sent to the Asuofua Health Center for treatment after police discovered he took some substance judging from his unhealthy condition. He however gave up the ghost on a subsequent day. 

“He was handed over to the police who later took him to the Asuofua hospital for treatment after realising his condition, but he died in the evening”,  Hon Osei Kwaku stressed.

The forty-five (45) year - old man was arrested by the Asuofua police after shooting his wife to death at Asamang New site in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region on Sunday night.

The deceased who was only identified as a 39-year-old Vida was shot twice by her wicked husband on Sunday night.

Residents and family members were thrown into a state of shock and mourning after the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday.
 
An eyewitness who earlier spoke to Soireenews said the deceased (Vida) had divorced her husband (Bashiru) for some months of which the family was trying to resolve.

But nobody knew what actually triggered for the man to shoot his wife in such a manner.

According to him, the deceased (Vida) had moved from her husband’s house with their four(4) children due to a misunderstanding that had ensued between them.

He further revealed that the murderer husband around 11 pm on Sunday night went to where the deceased (Vida) was staying, pulled a gun and shot her.

According to a further revelation, their firstborn daughter who was around decided to calm down the situation was turned down by her wicked father who went ahead to shoot the wife. 

“Bashiru left the place after the first shot but came back to shoot again after realising the wife had not completely died,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue by Asuofua Police personnel for autopsy.
