The Member of Parliament for the New Edubiase constituency, Honourable Adams Abdul Salam has extended support to victims of torrential rain that was accompanied by heavy wind last Thursday at Atwereboana, a farming community in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

About 50 households in the community were affected and most of the victims, unfortunately, lost their roofing through the heavy wind whiles others got parts of their properties collapsed needing cement to rebuild.

In an interview with the Assemblyman for Atwereboana, Honourable Benjamin Lonkpledzi, he explained that "the sad incident happened last Thursday and I quickly informed the Adansi South Assembly as well as the Honourable MP".

He further detailed that "the Member of Parliament knowing how important shelter is to the people, tasked his team to assess the damage so they come to their aid, and in four days time after the incident, they're here, we're really grateful for the support."

He further called on the Assembly to quicken their pace in extending Support to the people as promised.

Some of the affected people who benefited from the MPs gesture were full of praises for such a gesture and the promptness with which he's done it signifying his readiness to serve the people. they further called for more Support as that of the Member Of Parliament might not be enough.

In total, Honourable Adams Abdul Salam spent GH¢18,880 on the items which included 30 bags of cement and 35 packets of roofing sheets amounting to 700 pieces of sheets. 

He promised his readiness to come to the aid of his people anytime there's a situation that needs his attention before handing the items over to them.
