Fire outbreak sends 4 persons to their grave in Ashanti region.

The deceased, identified as 57-year-old Godfred Afenyo, and his spouse 42-year-old Happy Danso, were both asleep in a wooden structure that serves as their residence which fire gutted it.

At least four persons including a couple have were burnt to death in two separate domestic fire incidents in the Ashanti region on Friday.

The awful incident occurred at Gyinyaase in Kumasi and Asante Mampong on Friday, March 11, 2022.

the inferno which occurred at Gyinyaase is reported to have started around midnight today.

The deceased, identified as 57-year-old Godfred Afenyo, and his spouse 42-year-old Happy Danso, were both asleep in a wooden structure that serves as their residence which fire gutted it.

The report gathered indicates that the intensity of the fire made it impossible for them to be rescued.

Kingsley Asante is the eldest son of the deceased. He is yet to come to terms with the reality. the young man who could not control himself disclosed that the news has been a tough one to him.

The police have since conveyed the charred bodies to the morgue.

Meanwhile, fire officers in the Municipality have begun investigations into the incident.

The situation is not quite different from an outbreak that occurred At Asante Mampong today, a 90-year-old and her grandson, 11 years, also lost their lives after a fire gutted their five-bedroom house around 3.30 am.

Residents were thrown in a state of shock following the sad incident which was recorded in the region.

The investigation has commenced unraveling the cause of the fires whilst the four bodies have since been deposited at the morgue.

However, inhabitants have been advised to be extra careful when dealing with fire.

The Ashanti region has recorded more than 250 fire outbreaks in the year 2022 which is a worry to all. But the firefighters are optimistic following instructions will curb the situation.
