Fantiakwa South  DCE Urges Youth To Shun Negative Tendencies & Squabbles

The Fantiakwa South District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Ernest Ofosu, has advised to shun gossiping, backbiting and invocation of curses saying that these negative attitudes usually militate against community and national development.

The Fantiakwa South District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Ernest Ofosu, has advised shunning gossiping, backbiting, and invocation of curses saying that these negative attitudes usually militate against community and national development.

"I realized it is now the time for the youth in these communities to change their negative attitudes and leave exemplary lives for the upcoming children to learn from them to become responsible by chasing their future dreams," the DCE offered the foregoing advice.

M.r Ofosu made the call when he was speaking at the celebration of this year's annual Ohum festival of chiefs and people of about 10 various communities in Abuakwa Traditional Area within the Fantiakwa South District.

The Ohum is a traditional festival organized annually by the traditional leadership of the  Abuakwa Traditional area with aim of bringing together citizens of the town far and near together to meet and plan for the development of their town.

Speaking further, the DCE advised the youth to adopt positive behaviors by encouraging themselves effectively on self-determination.

He further called on the youth to shun unnecessary tendencies and squabbles such as criminal activities to accelerate development in the area.

He expressed high hopes in the chiefs within the Fantiakwa South District on the rise of challenges confronting the district.

He, therefore, promised the chiefs of his outfit commitment to ensure that the poor road infrastructure is rehabilitated to accelerate development in the various communities.

He further assured that the Chiefs would benefit from the available resources and called on the traditional leaders in the area to unite towards the development of the district.

As part of the occasion, the DCE donated some items such as assorted drinks and some amount of money to support chiefs for the celebration of their annual Ohum festival at Ten Communities in Osino Traditional Area.

For his part, the Chiefs and the People of Osino and its environs appealed to the DCE to rehabilitate the roads in the area to make livelihood accessible.
