22 passengers were hurt in the Suhum-Densuso crash

In a close call on the Accra-Kumasi Highway at Densuso in the Eastern Region, at least 22 people have suffered various degrees of injuries.

A sprinter bus from Accra with the license plate AC 435 -20 was involved in the collision.

According to sources, a tire on the speeding car carrying passengers broke, causing the driver to lose control of the steering and crash.

At the Suhum Government Hospital, the victims and the driver are receiving medical care.

A further near-fatal accident in Akyem Tafo in the Abuakwa North Municipality has left three people in serious condition.

The collision happened when a tricycle crossed the path of a speeding Toyota Corolla with the license plate GB 3547-21, causing it to crash into a store on the Akyem Old Tafo section of the Bunso-Koforidua Highway.

The three victims, who were all male adults, were hurt while inside the car and were taken by emergency services to Osiem Hawa Memorial Saviour Hospital, where they have since been hospitalized.

The Toyota car was traveling at a high rate of speed from Koforidua to Suhum when it attempted to swerve around a tricycle that was performing an illegal U-turn on the road, but it lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a metal container business by the side of the road.

Fortunately, nobody was inside because the store was closed.

To transport the patients to the hospital, a joint team of police and NADMO representatives arrived at the scene.
