Chelsea moved into the top three of the Premier League table, kind courtesy of a 4-1 win over Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United.

Hakim Ziyech was brilliant on the night and provided two assists to help the Blues overcome incensed Blades who are yet to win a game in the League.

Sheffield United were off to a flying start when McGoldrick gave the Blades a 9-minute lead.

Chelsea absolutely switched off from a short corner when Norwood went short on a corner and put Baldock through on the right in space as Kante and Ziyech got drawn in.

Baldock pulled it back to Berge, and his low shot was directed goalwards by McGoldrick with a sweet flick beyond Mendy and into the bottom corner.

Abraham was a threat in front of goal rising to meet many of the crosses thrown his way.

The Sheffield defence blocked the view of Ziyech and made searching for Werner in the box very impenetrable from the right.

Sheffield United knocked on the door again but failed to get space on the right. Lowe had a narrow chance to test Mendy from 25 yards out, he hit but the Senegalese collected with ease.

Abraham level the scores in the 24-minute for the Blues who kept pushing for the equalizer.

Ziyech went behind the lines on the right for Kovacic and played a superb ball over the top for the midfielder, on the right of the box, and his cut-back found Abraham unmarked.

Running onto it, Abraham struck into the ground from 12 yards out, but it bounced into the far corner past Ramsdale.

Chilwell made it two, 10 minutes to end the second half after Chelsea went short from a cheap corner when Mount found Ziyech on the right, and his deep cross caused Ramsdale all sorts of problems.

Ramsdale just didn’t commit, stayed on his line, and Chilwell was there at the far post to squeeze it home from a yard out.

The Blues continued to dominate the game in the early stages of the second half and kept putting Ramsdale in awkward situations.

Chelsea won a freekick after Berge cynically tugged Kante's shirt, then continued to drag him around on the spot before receiving a textbook yellow card for the midfielder.

A wonderful cross in by Ziyech received the touch at the near post by Silva to direct the ball into the net in the 77-minute.

Three minutes later, Werner added a fourth after the ball was contested in midfield and squirmed behind a static Sheffield United defence.

The German was the sharpest to react, finished emphatically and powerfully past Ramsdale.

Sheffield offered nothing much to end the game in favour of the visitors. They remain rooted to the bottom of the league with just one point from their opening eight games.
