Leicester City have secured a point at the Selhurst Park after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday.

Two second-half goals were shared by the two teams – Wilfried Zaha opened the scores in the half-hour mark before Harvey Barnes grabbed the equalizer seven minutes to full time.

Leicester were awarded a penalty in the 18-minute when Tomkins caught Thomas in the area and sent the youngster over. The referee pointed to the spot and Iheanacho lined up to hit the kick. The Nigerian paused in his run-up to hit the ball as the goalkeeper comfortably pushed it away for clearance.

As the competition kept heating up, the Eagles started losing discipline and infringements were awarded for Brendan’s side but they failed to take any of it.

There were shouts from the Leicester bench few minutes to end the first half as Iheanacho and Mitchell collided in the area, but Graham Scott waved the claim away this time.

VAR reviewed the decision later and the initial decision was confirmed that the action was outside the penalty area.

Zaha scored in the 58-minute from the first shot on target. The Ivorian slipped through from the back and drove down the field with his explosive pace. He then laid the ball up for Townsend on the right flank, rolling over in the process. He quickly was back on his feet to reach the near post as Townsend whipped in the cross past Evans with ease. It was a superb volley from the forward who dinked just over Schmeichel at the near post.

Barnes clung the equalizer in seven minutes to full time when he brilliantly drilled a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner from the edge of the box.

The result means Leicester are back into second ahead of the remaining games on Matchday 16, three points behind Liverpool, while Palace move up one place into 13th.
