Members of the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG) have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to actively engage all players and stakeholders in the lotto industry before appointing the new bosses to man the affairs of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

"We the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana are calling for stakeholders meeting for a due consultation and brainstorming before appointing a new Director General (DG) and board members of the National Lottery Authority," CLAAG urged.

Addressing a press conference in Accra yesterday, the Executive Secretary of CLAAG, Mr. Kwaku Duah-Tawiah expressed dissatisfaction with the abrupt tightening of the law against licensed private lotto operators in the country by the National Lottery Authority under the administration of President Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the Association has the legal responsibility to raise the issue of regulatory roles of NLA, and its dual roles of also being operator thereby making the Authority a referee and player at the same time.

"We earlier have the occasion to complain about the huge monies extorted from the private lotto operators by the former Director-General of NLA, albeit huge sums of monies as registration fee for registering private lotto operators to operate but to date, it has not happened and the monies have not been refunded.
