110 members of the ECOWAS Parliament are expected to converge in Winneba for the extraordinary session of the regional body.

The session, scheduled for October 12 to 22 is expected to review activities of the regional body over the past 20 years.

All 15 member states are expected to be represented except Guinea which has been suspended following the adamance of the military not to return the country to democratic rule after it toppled the government.

At a press conference earlier today, Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin disclosed that the session will also review some recent disturbances in the sub-region including the Guinea coup and come up with a road map towards restoring peace in the sub-region.

"Even as a country when we are not careful, we may not be speared", he added

"The interlocking interest is such that we need to review generally what has been happening and best practices", he explained.
