The Concerned Youth Associations of Fanteakwa North, in the Eastern Region of Ghana, has sent a caution to the Begoro Traditional Council not to endorse the incumbent District Chief Executive, Charles Oware Tweneboah for the position in the 2nd term of President Akufo-Addo.

In a press release, issued on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, the Association is of the view that the District Chief Executive failed to perform to cement his position as the DCE for the second term in office and have therefore cautioned the traditional council to openly oppose the Honourable Oware Tweneboah since his assumption into the office for the past four years has shown no development in the district.

The youth are, therefore, appealing to President Akufo-Addo to consider another nomination, Nana Sakyi Amankwa, a patron of the party and also the 'Twafohene' of Begoro and Fanteakwa traditional area.

They opined, that the gap between the NPP and the NDC in the 2016 general election was over 6,000 votes but in the 2020 general election, the NDC has closed the gap to just 3,000 votes because the DCE performed abysmally and the party could not base their campaign on anything.

The coalition of the youth in a statement added: "We as Coalition of Fanteakwa Youth Association, are suggesting to the traditional council to second the nomination of Nana Sakyi Amankwa, to succeed the current DCE for developmental projects and to merge the divisions among party members in the district".

"We are of the view, that Nana Sakyi Amankwaa represents the interest of the development of Fanteakwa North, and he represents the district, as well as its human resource hence our decision to support his candidature. Adding that he has all the qualities as a leader to better the lives of the people in the district and to also move the district through the right developmental direction".

He, "therefore, encouraged opinion leaders and well-meaning people of Fanteakwa North and Begoroman to be concerned with who to succeed the outgoing District Chief Executive of Fanteakwa North as our district is deprived of developmental issues."

Meanwhile, the Fanteakwa South Concern Youth led by Yaw Obeng has also warned their traditional council not to accept the renomination of its current DCE Honourable Adjabeng Ntori as his performance was worse of all, adding that the district now import portable drinking water under his watch, saying galamsey has destroyed all water bodies in the district and especially the district capital, Osino.

Charles Oware Tweneboah

The youth lamented that the state of the district capital (Osino) has not seen any improvement since Adjabeng Ntori became the District Chief Executive.

They are therefore demanding an immediate disqualification of his candidature.

They added that the DCE did not organise a single Assembly meeting with his District to educate his citizens of the direction of the district in his four-year term.

They accused the  DCE of not creating a single job opportunity for the youth and they believe the DCE is highly incompetent to lead for another 4-year term.

Lastly, they vehemently opposed the renomination of Kwasi Adjabeng Ntori as the next District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South.
