Demolition of the Liberia Camp on the 30th of September Suspended

The Gyaasehene for Gomoa Fetteh stool land, Nana Kwa Bediako, pleaded to the District Chief Executive, Honourable Solomon Darko Quarm to postpone the demolition of the Liberia camp till further notice.

Honourable Solomon Darko Quarm, Gomoa East District Chief Executive (DCE)  for the Central Region has disclosed that the entire Buduburam Ghettos and the refugees camp will be dismantled soon to put a stop to criminal activities in Gomoa Buduburam and Kasoa by the end of September 2021.

According to Solomon Darko Quarm, the area harbour a large number of criminals, hence President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo gave the Local Assembly the ability to demolish all buildings and ghettos.

Due to the nature of their structure and the manner in which they leave, the Buduburam Refugee camp has become a haven for criminals.

It recalls that Soireenews  Reporter has made multiple reports in the area about individuals being killed and innocent people being attacked by criminals.

The destruction, according to the District Chief Executive for Gomoa East, will take place on September 30, 2021, and all those who remain inside the refugee camp should evacuate before that date, or they would not spare anyone.

Meanwhile, in a press conference with media, Gyaasehene for Gomoa Fetteh stool land, Nana Kwa Bediako, who also doubles as caretaker for Gomoa Fetteh stool land, hinted that the demolition has been suspended due to a court case between him as caretaker for Gomoa Fetteh stool land and one woman named Medica Ama Abam is in the third round of the Cape Coast High Court.

As a result, once the Budubram land is in court, the court has put a hold on the destruction until the court reaches a final decision on whether or not to order the demolition.

He also mentioned that the Liberia employees are human beings and that they must take their time before dismissing them.

As a result, he pleaded with the District Chief Executive to obey and postpone the demolition until further notice.
