Covid instances are on the rise once more - Minister

According to Uganda's health minister, Covid-19 instances have reached levels last seen in June 2021, when the Delta strain was widespread.

Minister Jane Aceng did not provide the most recent data on confirmed cases in a tweet, but she did say that the government was "more equipped to respond and save lives than before."

Under the current circumstances, she also ruled out travel restrictions or lockdowns in any area of the country.

"At the individual and community levels, we will optimize the existing control and mitigation methods.

"Vaccination for all individuals, use of face masks at all times, especially for the vulnerable population, and hand washing are among these measures," she stated.
